See MICROSENS’ new generation Profi Line Modular switches during ITEXPO at ABP Technology’s booth 730
DALLAS, Texas – August 29, 2013 – MICROSENS, the German specialist for fiber-optic transmission systems, is presenting its new Profi Line Modular switches though ABP Technology; the exclusive MICROSENS distributor for the Americas. ABP Technology introduces the fastest, latest generation of MICROSENS’ proven Gigabit Ethernet switches starting today, at ITEXPO Las Vegas.
The miniaturized "Fiber To The Office" (FTTO) concept developed by MICROSENS combines the advantages of future-proof fiber-optic technology, compact and energy efficient design, while still offering the flexibility of copper-based twisted-pair cabling at the end. MICROSENS eliminates the 100m barrier of copper-based Ethernet and replaces it with quasi-unlimited distance of fiber. This significantly reduces the need for wiring cabinet space in new buildings with the added advantage of reducing energy and IT operating costs. This generation of Gigabit Ethernet switches by MICROSENS is a milestone in the field of high-efficiency FTTO networking.
Fiber to the Desk is the fastest, most future-proof solution and is frequently less expensive than running copper, especially in larger buildings. MICROSENS provides a de Facto Fiber to the Desk solution with Gigabit Ethernet and PoE termination.
“On the industrial side the new Profi Line Modular switches from MICROSENS offer maximum performance and flexibility in the smallest space. Being robust, modular, expandable and designed for the greatest reliability and shortest failover times, the Profi Line Modular series has become the first-choice solution for mission critical Industrial Ethernet in Europe. Now we want to take it to the same level in the Americas,” said Robert Messer, President of ABP Technology.
The new generation switches provide the highest MTBFs and all units offer the capability to tailor to specific needs. The hardware of the Profi Line Modular series is designed for future expansion and easy firmware upgrades. Another trend-setting design feature is the switch operating system, firmware and configuration data, which are all stored on an SD card, enabling quick unit replacement. These features set the Profi Line Modular series apart from competitors, reduce initial investment and future costs.
