Vertical Communications at ITEXPO: Aligning Technology with Natural Workflows
ITEXPO is one of the biggest names around when it comes to seeing what's going on in the field of technology. A host of exhibitors will be on hand showing off just what's about to emerge into the market and make a name for itself in the near-term future. But it's not just exhibitors that make an ITEXPO event worth attending; it's the speakers as well. ITEXPO landed a new such speaker recently, welcoming Vertical Communications' president and chief executive officer Peter Bailey as a keynote speaker.
Bailey's address, titled “The Next Frontier: Aligning Technology with Natural Workflows,” will focus on the issues that emerge when trying to get the technology involved in an operation in line with what needs to be done every day at work. Technology isn't always clear in its direct application to a business' operations, so seeing how technology can better fit into those operations to produce new and better ways of doing things makes sense. More specifically, Bailey's remarks—according to word from TMC CEO and ITEXPO conference chairman Rich Tehrani—would be focusing on solutions dealing with collaboration, mobile and voice issues.
Bailey himself offered some comment on his upcoming speaking engagement, saying “The current state of communications technology—which now comprises an array of traditional voice and data, cloud, software and collaboration services—has caused businesses to completely re-think how these offerings can be used to support their natural workflows. ITEXPO is the perfect venue to discuss the need for vendors to better align their offerings with customer needs, and change the conversation from one focused on products and functionalities, to one that emphasizes value and long-term customer satisfaction.”
Those interested in catching the ITEXPO event will need to head out to Anaheim, California's Anaheim Convention Center to get a look at all the events and sponsors, while those interested in Bailey's address will need to proceed to the keynote luncheon scheduled for October 6 at 12:45 p.m. There will even be several other events colocated with ITEXPO, providing new looks at network functions virtualization (NFV), Skype for Business, session initiation protocol (SIP) trunking and many more.
Looking at the state of communications as it relates to current workflow, meanwhile, is a great idea and not just for an event at ITEXPO. Not every technology is appropriate for every situation, and the technology that best fits a company's needs is the technology that's best to have on hand. What good does it do to have a key that doesn't fit any lock, or a tire that won't go on any car? Sure, there are other uses for such technologies, but these are sub-optimal at best. Companies want to get the most out of systems purchases, and Bailey's address should go a long way in better pinning down how what's available best works in a current system.
Basically, those wanting a good look at the state of technology for the enterprise today and for its near future, the place to be will be Anaheim, California in early October. Those looking to make connections with those at the forefront of enterprise technology will also want to be on hand, spurred on by exhibitors, networking opportunities, and some great keynote addresses like those about to be offered by Vertical Communications' Peter Bailey.
